Seminar: How to handle cross-border family maintenance procedures? Novelties brought by the recast Brussels IIa Regulation
The seminar will deliver in-depth insights on the highly specialized topics related to EU cross border recovery of family maintenance and will be carried out by leading practitioners tackling the central issues of the EU Maintenance Regulation, whcih builds on the 2007 Hague Convention and Protocol on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance.
In this vein, the training will focus on jurisdiction, abolishment of the exequatur, recovery of internatinal mainenace outside the EU and the adjustment of maintencae decisions together with the corresponding case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The training presumes general familiarity with EU law and international family law.
Throughout the discussions specific efforts will be made to blend the theoretical approach with practice oriented learning outcomes through polls, breakout rooms and a workshop session.
